not easily supported by the widely used SNMP management protocol of
today. The Common Information Model (CIM) specification overcomes
the limitations of the information model of SNMP standard. As a
result CIM based manageability is expected to be widely used in future,

time SNMP based management has to co-exists in many devices for the foreseeable
future. Enabling the legacy SNMP managed devices with CIM based management or enabling new set of devices with both CIM
and SNMP based management is difficult. Software from BlueSAN

CIM with proprietary/SNMP based management.

- BlueSAN ezCIM® is a CIM provider development
framework in a layered architecture that separates
the HTTP/XML processing and CIMOM interfacing from the
management instrumentation. By using ezCIM, a device HW/SW vendor can focus on the
instrumentation specific code rather than having to
deal with CIMOM and HTTP/XML.
- BlueSAN ezCIM SMI-S Emulator is a device
emulation environment for any SMI-S profile or any set
of CIM classes. The emulation engine runs under the
ezCIM framework and provides an easily manipulated
testing environment for CIM/SMI-S based management applications.
